I am a mother of three humans and a dog. Born and raised in the Bay Area of California, I grew up the oldest of seven in a religious, homeschooled family. Now an atheist, I consider myself both a survivor of extreme religiosity and the homeschool movement that sprang from it – an extremism that I currently see overtaking our society and government. I worked hard to get away from it, I’ll be damned if I ever go back.
